Tentez alors de vendre ce v\u00e9lomoteur plus cher que la concurrence sur un march\u00e9 o\u00f9 vous n&rsquo;\u00eates connu que pour vos bicyclettes. Le pari n\u2019\u00e9tait pas sans risques\u00a0! <strong>Cette<\/strong> <strong>Mercier \u00ab\u00a0Vacances\u00a0\u00bb appara\u00eet au salon de Paris de 1954<\/strong> chez le constructeur de v\u00e9los st\u00e9phanois avec une suspension avant \u00e0 roue pouss\u00e9e (bient\u00f4t remplac\u00e9e par une fourche t\u00e9lescopique), un bras oscillant arri\u00e8re amorti sur bloc caoutchouc (70 mm de d\u00e9battement) et un car\u00e9nage-casquette de phare en alu assorti \u00e0 la coque. Annonc\u00e9, sans doute avec optimisme, pour 5 chevaux \u00e0 4\u00a0800\u00a0tr\/min, le pauvre moteur deux temps<strong> Le Poulain Comet de 98\u00a0cm<sup>3<\/sup><\/strong> \u00e0 bo\u00eete deux rapports command\u00e9e par poign\u00e9e tournante et d\u00e9marrage par lanceur \u00e0 main avait bien du mal \u00e0 emmener notre Vacances aux 65\u00a0km\/h promis. Allez savoir pourquoi, le Mercier \u00ab\u00a0Vacances\u00a0\u00bb restera<strong>\u00a0l\u2019un des seuls cyclomoteurs \u00e0 cadre coque en aluminium<\/strong>.
