Gillet 350 Tour du monde - 1923-1926
Known as "Tour du Monde" (world tour), the Gillet Sport is launched in 1923 and star with noticeable victories such as French championchip the same year and winning its class at the Bol d'Or 24 h endurance race in 1925.
In 1924, the French journalist Robert Sexé, uses this model for a raid Paris-Constantinople- Paris, then again, in 1925 for a trip from Paris to Moscow including a participation to the Soviet Rallye. The best is to follow. From june to December 1926, Sexé and his team mate Andieux, using the Gillet Sport equipped with additional fuel tanks cover a complete world tour. Over 25 000 km across Russia, Mandchuria, Japan, USA and Europe. As road most often don?t exist, some part were driven on railways sleepers ! Robert Sexé will use its "Tour du Monde" till the sixties covering almost 300 kilometers.
